“She’s Curvy VVVVVVVVVVV,Rudeboy That’s Mee Mee”

Last Night @ The Alibi in Dalston saw the ninth midweek grime instalment of Just Jam.  The event is organised by the renowned duo Tim and Barry (jc de castelbajac, Tempz) and yesterday’s rave was the Official ‘Woooo Rhythm’ Launch Party. The DJ S-X produced riddim is widely acclaimed as the “biggest grime instrumental of 2010” and you have no reason to let your ears pass it by bar a life threatening coma! The stellar lineup was a nice blend of old and new Grime artists including O.G’S such as Newham Generals and Jammer. MC’S of the moment P-Money and Blacks were in the vicinity as well.

Wolverhampton and Brum ‘Stay Fresh’ collective kicked off the proceedings good and proper spitting over Bassline, Grime and Dubstep instrumentals showing the London faithful that it is ‘grim’ in the Midlands.  Jammer and Shorty then jumped onto the M.I.C repping BBK, a highlight was the ‘Merkle Man’ hopping on the spot like Tigger with his Dreads flying in all directions! P-Money and Blacks were up next and the former got the sing-a-long crew bubbling inside the dance reciting bars from the underground smash “Slang Like This”.

An impromptu freestyle session over Grime classics such as Eskimo, Golly Gosh ensued between the headline artists on the bill which saw the crowd get further hype and Builder of the year Bruza even got in on the act. The last part of the night saw all of  the artists reciting bars to the ‘Woooo’, but D Double E further cemented his place as arguably one of Grime’s All-Time spitting his version and another Summer riddim that’s been getting mad love on the airwaves in the form of Street Fighter.

Big up to everyone that performed on the night and the crowd that made the rave go off!
